Examination of Brain Structure and Function in Adults with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether a new MRI scan has the ability to detect subtle forms of brain damage in persons who have had a mild brain injury.

Eligibility Requirements:
Participants must be adults between the ages of 18 and 50 who have had a head injury within the past 30 days. Aside from the head injury, all participants must be in generally good health. Pregnant women cannot participate in this study.

Visit Frequency::
At least one visit is required to complete a brief interview, cognitive testing and MRI scan. However, several visits may be arranged at participants’ convenience. This project also requires a 6-month follow up visit to complete and 2nd day of cognitive testing and MRI scans.

Compensation::
Participants receive $20.00 per hour for their participation, for a total of between 10-12 hours in all.
