Alcohol, Driving and Brain Activation
Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to examine with the aid of fMRI the effects of alcohol on brain functions involved in driving.Eligibility Requirements:
Normal, male and female subjects over 18 years of age, who drink socially, hold a valid driver's license and do not use street drugs. Pregnant women cannot participate in this study.Visit Frequency:
Subjects are seen twice. The first visit is for the purposes of screening and takes 1-2 hours for a brief physical, psychiatric and neuropsychological examination.
The second visit is the actual study and consists of approximately 3 scanning hours.
A forthcoming study will last 3 or 4 days and involve staying overnight.Labwork:
A urine sample is collected to screen for drug use.Compensation:
