Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (Ages 8-30)

Purpose:
The Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center at the Institute of Living is launching a study of people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This research study investigates the neural basis of social deficits seen in individuals with ASD. Qualifying participants will be asked to come in for a 4-6 hour testing day (can be divided to two meetings) that includes functional MRI scan, psychological tests and psychiatric interviews.

Eligibility Requirements:
1. Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, including: Autistic Disorder (Autism), Asperger’s Disorder or Pervasive Developmental Disorder
2. Ages 8-30 years old
3. Males and Females
4. Normal IQ
5. Can be under pharmacological treatment


Exclusion Criteria:
1. Mental retardation
2. History of schizophrenia or other psychotic disorder in yourself or first degree relative
