Current Studies / Adults with Bipolar Disorder

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR A STUDY ON BIPOLAR DISORDER

What is this study about?
In this study we are hoping to find out how cognitive abilities (such as attention, memory, and problem solving ability) of individuals with bipolar disorder may differ from their siblings without bipolar disorder or unrelated people who do not have bipolar disorder. That is, are attention, memory and problem solving affected by bipolar disorder?

What will I do?
Qualified participants will complete interviews, pen, paper and computer tests, blood draw, and non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging tests (MRI). The entire study will last approximately 5-6 hours.

Who can participate?

  • People who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder who are currently not experiencing any symptoms, along with their brothers and sisters who have not been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

  • Healthy people who have never been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder
All participants must be between the ages of 18-70.

Will there be compensation?
Yes, you will be paid for the portions of the study that you complete.

Who can I call with questions?
You can contact a member of the research team at (860) 545-7794 or at (860) 545-7808. They will be able to answer any questions you have or schedule you for your study visit.
