Who Am I?
Christi Avery is currently pursuing her doctoral degree
in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford’s Graduate Institute
of Professional Psychology, where she is presently completing her doctoral
dissertation. She earned her B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in
Biological Sciences and Human Development from Penn State University and her
M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. She recently
completed a pre-doctoral internship at Westborough State Hospital’s APA-accredited
program. Her clinical interests include neuropsychological assessment of
neuropsychiatric disorders including, cognitive remediation, group and
individual therapy and program development for adults with chronic and
persistent mental illness, DBT, and health psychology. She joined the Olin
Neuropsychiatry Research Center in the summer of 2007 as a clinical research
assistant working with the Biomarkers/Psychosis team under the supervision
of Dr. Godfrey Pearlson. Christi’s research interests include
neuropsychological, neurological, and genetic correlates of Schizophrenia
and Bipolar Disorder. She is very excited to grow in her understanding of
neuropsychiatric research, as well to make a valuable contribution to the
knowledge base of the field.
