Who Am I?
A native of Colorado, Rachel migrated east and received
her B.S. in 2008 from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Her academic
concentrations were Psychology, Neuroscience, and Creative Writing. While
under the direction of Dr. Amy Wiseman at Allegheny, Rachel completed a
study on the relationship between depression, anxiety, and cognitive
performance in older adults. She also worked in Allegheny’s physiological
psychology lab with Dr. Jeffery Cross and assisted in various experiments,
such as recreating an animal model of Parkinson’s disease and attempting
various therapies. Her primary interests include cognitive aging, memory,
anxiety disorders, genetics, and neuroimaging technology. In July of 2008,
Rachel joined the ONRC as a research assistant for the B-SNIP, Biomarkers,
and Psychosis projects. She ultimately plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Cognitive
Neuroscience and become a science writer.
