Who Am I?
Rachel Jiantonio received her B.A. in Psychology from Central Connecticut
State University in May 2009. While in college, she spent time in the
Psychology and Biology departments assisting with research on the
neuropsychological changes associated with Peripheral Vascular Disease, and
the role of GAD 65 and GAD 67 in persons with Schizophrenia. During this
time, she also volunteered at the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center.
Rachel joined the Olin Center team in August of 2009 as a research assistant
for the Ventral Striatal Functional Deficits and Familial Alcoholism Risk
project and also in the College Alcohol and Drug Use in College Students
project. She is currently attending Central Connecticut State University to
obtain a M.A. in Psychology, and ultimately plans to pursue a Ph.D. in
Clinical Neuropsychology.
Roles and Responsibilities
Rachel works in the
Cognition, Brain Imaging, Behavior Research, and Allelic Variations (COBBRA)
Lab under the direction of Dr. Pearlson. Her main roles are to recruit
participants, conduct assessments, manage and analyze data, and administer
neuropsychological testing for the Ventral Striatal Functional Deficits and
Familial Alcoholism Risk study and College Alcohol and Drug Use in College
Students study.
