Who Am I?
Rivkah graduated from the University of Connecticut in
May, 2009 where she achieved academic degrees in Research-Based Psychology,
Neuroscience, and Human Development and Family Studies. Rivkah's interest in
research was sparked after she worked with Dr. Crystal Park on a study that
focused on coping and how it related to health-related quality of life and
meaning in life in patients who had been diagnosed with Congestive Heart
Failure. Rivkah joined the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research team in August of
2009 as a research assistant and hopes to expand her knowledge of clinical
testing, assessment, and brain function. Rivkah has a great interest in
working with teens and adolescents and her future plans include going to
graduate school to further her education in the School Psychology field.
Roles and Responsibilities
Rivkah works in the Cognition, Brain Imaging, Behavior
Research, and Allelic Variations (COBBRA) Lab under the direction of Dr.
Pearlson. Her main roles are coordinating activities between multiple sites
of the BARCS (Brain and Alcohol Research on College Students) study, as well
as recruiting college students to come in for fMRI imaging, conducting
assessments, managing, analyzing, and presenting data, and administering
neuropsychological testing and diagnostic interviews.
