Who Am I?
In May of 2007 Ritu received her B.S in Psychology and
a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
During her time at Georgia State Ritu conducted research under Dr. Eric J.
Vanman and David Washburn. She worked on projects in both the Social
Neuroscience Lab and the Individual Differences in Executive Attention lab.
She spent her time on several different research projects using
psychophysiological measures. These measures included oculomotor testing,
facial EMG/EDA/EKG data collection, and virtual reality equipment. Her main
focus there was on the effects of race on pupilary responses to ethnic
faces, which looked at pupilary responses involving in-group/out-group bias.
Ritu joined the Olin Center team in December 2007 on the Bipolar and
Schizophrenia Network on Intermediate Endophenotypes study.
In the coming years Ritu hopes to obtain her PhD in Social Neuropsychology.
Roles & Responsibilities
Ritu is a research assistant in the Cognition Brain Imaging Behavior
Research and Allelic Variation lab. She currently works with pre-pulse
inhibition, oculomotor, electroencephalographic, and neuroimaging equipment.
Here interests here involve
-Bi-polar and schizophrenia research.
-Alcohol effects on saccadic eye movements.
