Who Am I??
I am interested in medical imaging. Our group does quantitative neuro-imaging as a means to learn more about psychiatric conditions…in particular, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease, Down Syndrome. Also we are involved in a large study investigating aging and cognition. I have a particular interest in MRI since I believe it has a large amount of information to offer about the human condition. Other areas I enjoy are the merging together of information from various imaging modalities and even other sources from both a systems viewpoint and a software development viewpoint (e.g. PACS systems, Image Analysis and Visualization Software Packages).
Roles
and Responsibilities include:
- Directing the medical image
analysis lab
- Development of image analysis methods
- Research planning and implementation in functional
MRI
- Development of structural and functional image analysis
software (image processing, filtering, segmentation, etc.)
Objectives/Interests
in Neuropsychiatry:
- To develop methods/software for
improving visualization of structure and function in medical images.
- To study the brain in healthy controls and in patients
with mental disease in order to increase understanding and promote health.
Current
Projects:
- Development of processing methods
for functional MRI
- Development of functional MRI projects
(latency mapping, independent components analysis, adaptive filtering)
- Co-development of Java cross-platform
medical imaging visualization (blox) and analysis package (functional analysis
components)
