HISTORY
VAPP is the successor to VSPRES, SBVSPRES, VVSP, and SHOWSTIM of the UC San Diego event-related potential laboratory, and incorporates many of their functions.
Development of VAPP began in the summer of 1995 under the direction of Kent Kiehl VAPP was coded by Tony Gray . The first version of VAPP was tested in event-related potential (ERP) experiments in the fall of 1995 in the Schizophrenia Division, Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) experiments employing VAPP began shortly thereafter at the Vancouver Hospital, University of British Columbia Site. See the VAPP publication section for more information on these early studies.
VAPP was developed in collaboration with UC San Diego and UC Davis event-related potential laboratories led by Drs. Hillyard and Mangun (Dr. Mangun is currently the Director of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Duke University), respectively. However, all inquires regarding the use, distribution, and development of VAPP or any of the supplemental programs (SG, ADDWORDS) should be directed either to Kent Kiehl or Tony Gray .
VAPP has now been in active use for more than five years. Information included in the VAPP development pages describes the changes and versions of VAPP over the years.
See VAPP Versions and Upgrades for list of feature updates and bug fixes.
